Cliff Jumping in the Philippines !!

My friends and I spent 4 days in Boracay, a tiny island in central Philippines!!!!!!!!

Getting to Boracay -

Since Boracay doesn't have an international airport, my friends and I land in Panay (the island directly south of Boracay) at the Kalibo International Airport. Traveling to and from Boracay was the most troublesome part of our trip and we luckily arranged a transfer service online beforehand (10/10 recommend) with Southwest Tours Boracay. They handled all of the transportation details, picked us up directly outside of the airport and took us all the way to our hotel doorstep.

After stepping off the plane, we-

1. Spent almost an hour getting through immigration and customs

2. Took another 20 minutes getting sim cards (very cheap!!) and exchanging money

3. Boarded a limo bus and rode 1.5 hours to the northern edge of Panay

4. Jumped on a jetty boat and rode 5 minutes to the edge of Boracay

5. Boarded a smaller bus and rode 25 minutes to our hotel

^ this was all planned by Southwest Tours. You can definitely figure out your own way to Boracay (and it might be cheaper) but we felt that this option was a lot safer. Also, public jetty boats usually stop running after sunset and we got to Kalibo at 8pm.

It took about three hours for us to reach our hotel and thinking about it again wears me out.

(temperature check: 88°F with 70% HUMIDITY)

White Beach

We woke up the next morning (pretty late) and spent the entire day at White beach, which was directly across from our hotel.

We ended up haggling with one of the many boat tour companies about booking an island-hopping excursion for the following day. We got them to agree to drive us around in a private boat to two different islands and a snorkeling spot for 900 pisos per person ($18 USD)!!!

Island Hopping & Cliff Jumping

The next day went aboard the little boat and jetted off to Magic Island, a tiny little island 20 minutes out from Boracay. The whole left side of the island had planks protruding off of the edge, at varying heights, ranging from 2 meters to 10 meters high. Kids were doing backflips off the 10 meter plank (32 feet above the water!!!).

After seeing local kids jump off the plank, we all tried it too. It's a lot worse than it looks.

We hopped to another island, snorkeled and had a really fun time. My friend Rachelle documented the whole thing on her phone, which then unfortunately fell into the ocean.

Puka Beach

Day 3 was another beach day and we headed up north to Puka Beach.

A little local girl let us hold a starfish!!

Stargazing

We ended the day, by watching the moon rise. Boracay doesn't have a lot of street lights at night, making it really easy to see stars!

Flew back home and landed in Korea at 5:10am on Monday and went straight to our

9:00am classes.

Enjoy these sunset photos.
